I love my mac, and I have no intention of going back to Windows (other than for gaming purposes). However, recently I've been getting some very Windows like behaviors. This morning, my screencast software stopped working right. It would record, but not finish the file out. The resolution? Reboot the system. Very Windows like, that....

Today's Smalltalk 4 You looks at the way bundles are presented in the browser in newer revs of ObjectStudio and VisualWorks - with the package contents alphabetically sorted. If you instead want to revert to the older load order display, it's a simple setting toggle away. If you have trouble viewing it here in the browser, you can also navigate directly to YouTube. To watch now, click on the image below:
If you have trouble viewing that directly, you can click here to download the video directly. If you need the video in a Windows Media format, then download that here.
You can also watch it on YouTube:

The latest OS X has worked well for me, but I just wasted an hour because the OS install left the (now non-functional) GarageBand 6 in place, leaving it to me to figure out that I needed to fire up the App Store and download the new one (which did no appear as an update - I just had to install it). They might as well have locked the app in a drawer in a sub-basement over in alpha centauri, where I could easily find the information....
Update: As an added bonus, the new GarageBand just hangs with a beachball of death. Awesome

Amber is out with more cool stuff:
After 3 months of work we are pleased to announce the 0.12.0 release of Amber. Besides the usual bug fixes a lot of new features have emerged. The biggest change is the switch to RequireJS to specify Amber package dependencies and to load the packages as AMD modules. Amber is now additionally available as Bower [2] component. Bower is also used to manage required JavaScript libraries which don't have to be kept around in the repository anymore.
That's just the first paragraph of highlights; follow the link for more.
