If you ever saw the movie "The Sentinel", you saw a (much) shorter form version of "Lost". I guess my question is, did the writers have this in mind all along? I really don't think so. Remember how crucial the numbers and the energy source were for the first few seasons? I think they changed their mind and re-centered.

The episode, set to air during a Glee-themed week of musical programming in May, will have the regular cast—including, no doubt, Anna Torv and Joshua Jackson—breaking into song and dance.
I just can't see this idea fitting in with the show - it has the earmarks of the animated episode of "Farscape", after which it was all downhill....

The network announced today that it has ordered a 10th season of the young Superman series.
The entire Kandor thread makes no sense, Luthor is out of focus, and by now, the name "Superman" would never get used - "The Blur" would be what happened. The writers don't know when to stop...
It's official: HBO has given a green light to a 10-episode series based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy series Game of Thrones and released the first image from the show
The big question though: will book five ever appear?
It's been a good news/bad news kind of Supernatural day. The Good: Supernatural got an early season-six pickup for next season. The Bad: Creator Eric Kripke is planning to step down as co-showrunner, along with his current co-showrunner, Robert Singer.
This is mostly bad news, IMHO. This year's villain for the Winchester boys is Lucifer himself; like Buffy after season 5, I'm not exactly sure what's left to fight that could be bigger. Sometimes, a story just needs to end; this is one of them.

Spotted in SCI FI Wire: Primeval is back!
Hodges revealed that season four "will be starting a year later [from the end of season three]. All the cast you know will reappear, but they won't all necessarily reappear straightaway or for the whole season. However, we will be giving satisfying answers to all those cliffhangers."
One thing the writers of "Heroes" could learn from this show: having the main characters in actual peril (a bunch of the main characters have either died or been written out) helps the show.
NBC seems to wish that the last 7 months with Conan doing the Tonight Show was all just a bad dream - and they'd be really happy if you drew the same conclusion :)
In deference to those who haven't seen the ending yet, I won't talk about specifics. My general take? There was a point midway through season 1 where my interest really started to flag. Once it was clear that season 2 was going to be it, the show came back for me - I think a hard deadline really got the attention of Joss and the other writers, and they focused.
Still, you could tell that the endgame itself was rushed - the last 2 episodes in particular just raced to the conclusion - not unlike the movie "Serenity", where all plot threads got tied up more quickly than they should have been. Which is not to say that I was unhappy with how it ended - it's more to say that I would have liked the end to have taken place over about 2 more hours.

the latest idea being thrown around is to charge a $5 per month subscription for access to older shows. A quick search of Hulu just showed that only the past four or five episodes of newer shows are currently available, so charging for older shows means new access to additional content. We have to say that offering additional programming above and beyond what is currently free is a pretty good strategy, but the other one we'd like to see is a premium option to view content commercial free
I like the idea of making older stuff available for a fee - there are plenty of shows I'd consider watching - but I just can't get back to episode 1, so "why bother" is my response. If Hulu made it easy and affordable to go back and start from the beginning, that would be great.
For that matter, I'd love it if older shows that aren't on Hulu (like Buffy) got there too, even for a fee. There have been times that I've had a hankering to see the finale of season 5, or the "Bored Now" Willow episode :)
