The Downside to Running a Windows VM
Since I don't run Windows every day - and i sometimes go a weeks between runs of my Windows 7 VM - the updates tend to pile up. I was about to look at doing some more VW/COM screencasts, when I discovered that 370 MB of updates had piled up. There goes the next little while :)

Just FYI, on Fedora Linux, you choose the time to update. Log in as root, then type "yum update" and it'll show you the list of packages that it wants to update, and asks you if you really want to do this. Hit "Y" and that'll be all you need to do. Yum does the rest.
"yum" stands for the "yum update manager" and it's a relatively recent addition to Fedora. It automagically resolves all dependencies.
I'm *sure* OSX (being Unix-based) has a similar feature.

The only problem is, I can't do an Excel COM demo using Linux...
