Confused by that PR Thing

So not only is Viacom yanking "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" from Hulu, it's also threatening to sue anyone who posts clips:

"Yes, we intend to do so," PR rep Tony Fox told THR. "My feeling is if (websites) are making money on our copyrighted content, then that is a problem."

Right.... because a couple of minutes of either show is likely to discourage viewing. By that logic, they should stop running ads, since they're only likely to discourage viewing, too. Morons.

People (that is, large numbers of individuals) can change this rather quickly by not viewing any Viacom content and not subscribing to any Viacom channels. If Dish, DirecTV, Comcast, Charter, and the rest report that their customers don't want Viacom's products any more, the company would change their minds within 2-3 months.

More and more, I'm coming to see that it isn't just corporate idiocy that is the problem. It is our lack of principles and unwillingness to sacrifice present comfort for a better future.

They treat us like sheep because we don't make it costly for them to do so. Remember the three "B"s that changed America: Birmingham Bus Boycott. Any questions?
