Pharo Summer Release

August 1, 2013 11:46:36.750

The summer release (mostly bugfixes) for Pharo 2.0 is available:

The Pharo Team is happy to announce the Pharo 2 Summer release, the regular half of the year bugfix edition.

For this version, we incorporated really few changes since 2.0 was a really successful release. Anyway, we managed to sneak in a couple of minor additions:

  • Integrated ProfStef
  • Updated Configurations Browser

Also, we integrated 42 bugfixes, 20 of them backported from 3. 0 alpha.

As always, Summer edition can be downloaded at:

Pharo Launcher

July 8, 2013 17:41:15.000

VisualWorks has one of these - now Pharo does as well:

Erwan and I are proud to announce the first release of the Pharo Launcher, a cross-platform application that

  • lets you manage your Pharo images (launch, rename, copy and delete)
  • lets you download image templates (i.e., zip archives) from many different sources (Jenkins, files.pharo.org, and your local cache)
  • lets you create new images from any template

I like the idea behind this GSOC project - we need a simpler rewrite system in Smalltalk :)
