Thu'umcast 28: Mods and Exclusives, Part 2 (AAC)

July 7, 2012 18:16:39.755

Thu'umcast

Welcome to episode 26 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Today's episode doesn't have much to do with Dawnguard - Michael Lucas-Smith and James Robertson instead turned to mods (and to a small extent, to the Dawnguard XBox exclusive). What's covered is the mods we have installed, and what they add to our Skyrim experience. That conversation took long enough that this was split into two pieces. This is part 2 - if you missed part 1, you should start there.

If you liked our work on That Podcast, you'll probably like this. We intend to stay with the same idea - a gameplay podcast. If you don't want spoilers, don't listen - we are going to be talking about how we play the game, and what we ran across as we played.

You can subscribe in iTunes (or any podcatcher) using this feed, or this one for the AAC edition. We'll add the iTunes specific links as soon as they are available. In the meantime, join the Facebook Group and follow us on Twitter. If you play on Steam, join the Steam Group. Like the music? Pay Sbeast a visit, we thank him for letting us use it!

Links to all episodes and other information can be found on the Thu'umcast page.

If you want to download the podcast directly, we've provided it in three formats:

Thu'umcast 27: Beastly Rampages (AAC)

Thu'umcast

Welcome to episode 27 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Today's episode goes back into Dawnguard - Austin, Chris, and James pretty much wrap things up on the Dawnguard side of things. We discussed the Werewolf perks, the Werewolf totems, the "Lost to the Ages" quest, and general gameplay stuff - including how much fun it is to turn into a Werewolf and just run off on a rampage. Still no luck finding a Legendary Dragon though - none of us has seen one yet.

Thu'umcast

Welcome to episode 25 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Dawnguard has shipped (at least on the XBox) - and we're back to talk about how we're playing. We are joined by guest host Chris Grundtner - Austin and James are the only members of the regular cast who play on the XBox. All three of us have started out on the Dawnguard path, so that's what we talk about here. We'll be back soon with another episode - we'll have lots more to say about this as we play more!

Welcome to episode 23 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Today we went back to the perk trees - check out the Skyrim Perk Calculator to follow along. We talked about the "sneaky" skills - and along the way we got into the dragon priest masks, some of the RPG aspects of the game, and a few others things.

Thu'umcast

Welcome to episode 22 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

In this episode we go into a bit of (limited) depth about - the Skyrim Creation Kit. While we understand that this is kind of a nothing-burger for console players, it is big news for the game as a whole. We'll be back to the game itself shortly, but in the meantime: if you're a listener who's used the Creation Kit heavily, and would like to come on as a guest, please let us know!

Thu'umcast 21: Mods, Mods, and More Mods (AAC)

Thu'umcast

Welcome to episode 21 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

There's big news to talk about today - the Skyrim Creation Kit is out, and we decided to have two conversations about it. Today, we talked about the Steam Workshop - the new way to download mods, some of the mods that have shown up there already, and about the really cool mod video that Bethesda put out to show us what kinds of things you can do with the kit. We'll talk about the Creation Kit itself next time, and then we'll get back to the perk trees.

If you liked our work on That Podcast, you'll probably like this. We intend to stay with the same idea - a gameplay podcast. If you don't want spoilers, don't listen - we are going to be talking about how we play the game, and what we ran across as we played.

Welcome to episode 20 of "Thu'umcast" - a podcast where Michael Lucas-Smith, Scott Dirk, Austin Haley, Makahlua and I document our trials and tribulations in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The perk system is one of the coolest parts of Skyrim, and in this episode we start talking about them - focusing on the "warrior" perks. We'll get to the rest of them in future shows. We also touch on the just released 1.4 patch, and the much anticipated Creation Kit. While we discussed the perks, we referred to the awesome Skyrim Perk Calculator site. Check it out before you start your next playthrough!

The entire crew is back for the shout outs back to our fans on the Facebook Group. If you asked for one, this is where we answer! We also had a brief discussion about the shouts in the game - including some of the ones that the dragons and greybeards use that players don't have access to.
